THE HUSTLE

Hollywood strikes again with the brilliant pairing of actresses Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson in the hilarious new comedy ‘The Hustle’ .  The film sees Josephine Chesterfield (played by Hathaway) as a glamorous, seductive British woman with a penchant for defrauding gullible men out of their money. Penny Rust, (played by Wilson) is a cunning and fun-loving Australian woman who lives to swindle unsuspecting marks. Despite their different methods, the two grifters soon join forces for the ultimate score — a young and naive tech billionaire in the South of France.

The film is a female remake of the 1988 film ‘Dirty Rotten Scoundrels’ and see’s Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson at their finest.  A little bit of movie trivia for you – In this film, Anne Hathaway plays the equivalent role to Michael Caine in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Hathaway previously portrayed Caine’s daughter in Interstellar (2014) and also acted alongside him in The Dark Knight Rises in 2012.  Michael Caine was an avid fan of Oliver Goldsmith and actually used to wear the Oliver Goldsmith LORD back in the 1960’s – the same frame worn by Rebel Wilson in this very film!

The costumes featured in The Hustle are fantastic and play an important role in the film, often being an integral part of the quips and jokes the pair undertake. As you’d expect from two con artists, their sunglasses are a key accessory, and we are happy to have fitted both actresses. Click HERE to see them in their full glory.

Emma Fryer was the costume designer for the movie, and together we chose The Manhattan in Black for Anne Hathaway and The LORD in Wakame for Wilson.  Rebel also wears the Manhattan in a limited edition pink with gold mirror lens during the casino scene, you can check out her Instagram wear she is seen #BTS wearing them.

Seeing our frames on any face is always exciting, but to see them on the big screen is the cherry on the cake.  The Goldsmith brand has been lucky enough to supply frames to musicians, actors, actresses and Royalty since 1926 and we hope to continue dressing the faces of these artists for years to come.  Keep up to date with frame releases and News from Oliver Goldsmith by following us on Instagram and Facebook.
